In an age of time manipulation, Jesus informs his followers through stories that sometimes the work of God in the world is not subject to human manipulation or will. This is sometimes difficult to accept. However, it is Jesus' death and resurrection that reveals that God is able to overcome the most severe acts of manipulative and destructive human will.

The Time Manipulation Fallacy (Mark 4: 26-34)
Humans have been marking time for centuries. Manipulating time is more recent. Have you ever tried to set your clock to make you believe you have more or less time in the morning? Time zones were created in the 1800's to assist railroad barons in setting schedules. China's government rejected time zones to promote unity. Watch cosmetic commercials and observe the millions of dollars invested toward subverting the effects of time on human skin.
