Fed and Feeding (1 Kings 19: 4-8)

Elijah's life had not turned out like he imagined (has that ever happened to you?). Now his life is in danger. Often his solution was to power his way through his life and work, and Elijah expected God to do the same. But things changed.

Instead Elijah finds God in the simple things in life. Silence and being fed by God. He needs this food, for God has not called Elijah to a life of power and strength in a typical understanding, but by training his successor, Elisha.

Even when our lives fail to meet our expectations, God continues to call us to a purpose. Be fed by God--in prayer, word, and at Christ's table.
